On one of the Compromised News Network’s (CNN) shows, Christian Amanpour spent about 10 minutes in her usual diatribe demonizing the  Serbs. She painted a vivid picture of atrocities including widespread genocide, restraining  younger men from fleeing kosovo, and ethnic cleansing. But something was wrong with the picture. In the background, one could clearly see refugee camps populated  with younger males! Shot after shot showed the same thing! However, in reality, there actually were fewer younger men than one would expect to see. Were they actually kidnaped by the Serbs to be used as human shields, or worse, as Amanpour suggested?

The 4/1/99 issue of the Chicago Tribune provided an  answer for the imbalance. In addition to fleeing the NATO bombing and the Serb’s  relentless drive to expel them from Kosovo, the refugees faced still another hurdle: the Albanian KLA. Yes, their own brethren, the Albanian KLA, were pulling younger men off buses and sending them to training camps in the rugged hills nearby! The KLA also let it  be known that all Kosovar men between the ages of 18-50 had better join its ranks within one month or face unspecified consequences. 

In the same Tribune article, “Rebels’  Questionable Past And Recent Strong-Arm Tactics Put Would-Be Allies On Edge”, a Western diplomat was quoted as describing the KLA as “a mixture of thugs,  idealists and some severe Marxist-Leninists.” For anyone to describe the KLA as  “choir boys”, didn’t seem to have a clue about the reality ofthe situation.

Whatever the reason, we are witnessing the destruction of national sovereignty on a massive scale. We are witnessing an event in which a sitting President, described by Democrats and Republicans alike as a liar and untrustworthy, is  destroying some of the oldest and finest cities in the world while making hundreds of  thousands homeless. And we are witnessing a leaderless Congress sit by and let it all happen!  What Milosevic couldn’t do, our President, NATO, and our Congress are accomplishing with the hundreds... if not thousands of bombs being dropped throughout Yugoslavia. Perhaps they should all be tried for hate crimes.
