Social Security Understanding The Con Game By: Ed Henry (Edited for space considerations)
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF. . . . you deposited $1,000 in a savings account at your bank and then the bank told you that, because you did this, you now have a $1,000 mortgage to pay, with interest???
You have no choice in the matter. You, or your children, will have to pay off this mortgage.
On top of that, the original $1,000 you deposited is gone. The bank tells you that they gave it to the city to repair infrastructure, build a casino, or carry on a war with your sister city. They try to convince you that it was spent for your own good, or the good of the community.
THIS IS NOT A JOKE.... This is precisely the way your federal government treats the excess tax money you contribute to Social Security, Medicare, and other entitlements.
YOU PAY... You pay special taxes for Social Security, Medicare, airports, and gasoline to provide for both present and future needs. Excess revenue is supposed to be placed in a trust fund to meet commitments for future periods.
THEY STEAL... Your federal government, including both the Executive (President) and Legislative (Congress) branches, take excess revenues and spend it on anything that suits their fancy. It's used to finance wars, world banking, and pork barrel schemes they could not otherwise afford.
YOU PAY AGAIN... In the most preposterous con game ever perpetrated on its citizens, your government replaces these excess funds with promissory notes that only YOU, the public, can redeem! The same people (as well as their children and heirs) who paid this tax in the first place must someday pay again by redeeming Treasury bonds left to replace the cash stolen by our elected officials! That's right... you pay the same tax a second time. This is theft... and double taxation plain and simple.
It's exactly the same as stealing money from a child's piggy bank, then leaving a note behind. A note that says the child must replace the money you stole.
Only the government could do this. There is no other situation where this flagrant con game would be tolerated. And we should not tolerate it here.
