History Of The Impact Voters of America

The Impact Voters of America was founded by former officers and directors of the problem plagued United We Stand America (UWSA). After resigning from UWSA, these leaders vowed they would never let the spirit of the "citizen revolution" die with an organization that left millions of grassroots activists and advocates disillusioned and disheartened.

As word spread, other leaders from all parts of the Midwest became involved in submitting ideas on how to form a truly bottoms up, grassroots organization. During a series of meetings held in the basement of a pizza parlor during 1996, goals, criteria, and bylaws were developed to assist in meeting these objectives.

In 1997 the organization rapidly expanded when 26 other grassroots groups joined to form the first Impact Network. Since then, its goals and achievements have prompted hundreds of similar organizations throughout the nation to become part of a nationwide network of state level organizations. At the present time, there are over 970 organizations and hundreds of thousands of individuals in the various Networks throughout America.
